Why Everyone is Moving to Cordova Bay

Why Everyone Is Moving To Cordova Bay

Cordova Bay offers a breath of fresh ocean air from downtown city life. You’ll find panoramic ocean vistas, ample parks, quiet residential streets, and quaint owned shops. This sought after location allows buyers the opportunity to live in Victoria, BC, without having to deal with the traffic and speed of downtown living. No wonder there is so little Cordova Bay inventory in the Vancouver Island real estate market.

Before, Cordova Bay was known for single-family homes and a thriving retiree lifestyle. Yet, recently it has become a sought-after market for buyers in all phases of life. Condos for sale in Cordova Bay allow buyers to have a luxurious and affordable home in Victoria while enjoying the lifestyle a smaller community offers. This includes many active lifestyle activities and one of the best beaches on the south of Vancouver Island.

Parks and the Outdoors

Cordova Bay is home to many parks for leisurely strolls or more advanced hiking and biking trails. Residents of the area can enjoy the recreational advantages at Elk and Beaver Lake to the west or the long stretch of sandy beach to the east of the community.

The Lochside trail is a 29-kilometre well-maintained trail, perfect for biking and walking, that runs right through this community. The trail stretches from Swartz Bay to downtown Victoria, BC, and features views of beaches, farmland, and urban life. Visitors to the trail can enjoy a variety of paved sections as well as gravel or off-road conditions.

Cordova Bay boasts many community groups and activities making engaging with your neighbours easy and accessible.

The Cordova Bay 55 Plus Association offers its members the opportunity to join exercise classes, courses, talks, and more. They have a full calendar of events, making sure that residents never run out of things to do.

If you find yourself under the age of 55, there is the Cordova Bay Community Club which offers a variety of activities and resources to residents of the area, including Pickleball and Badminton. The Community Club hosts the annual Cordova Bay Day to show off the wonderful beauty and lifestyle of the area. This event is a celebration of the community and offers something for everyone. From a collector car show to a bouncy castle!

We can’t forget the golf course. The Cordova Bay Golf Course offers 18 holes of golf surrounded by ocean and mountain views as well as lessons and leagues that you can join.

The quiet residential sounds of Cordova Bay are only interrupted by the sounds of shoppers milling about. The neighbourhood local shops and artisans are always buzzing.

Mattick’s Farm is not a typical farm at all. Here you will not hear chickens scratching or cows rustling in the grass, you will hear the whistle of a milk steamer in a coffee shop or the quiet ring of a bell as a customer enters. This little metropolitan market is one of the hidden gems of Vancouver Island and the Saanich area.

Cordova Bay offers homeowners the opportunity to experience the convenience of a city like Victoria but with the lifestyle of a vacation home. A thriving part of the Vancouver Island real estate market, Cordova Bay offers an enjoyable and balanced lifestyle to those who wish to live the true island life.
